Uganda: When Head Teachers Build or Kill Our Schools In October 2010, students at Kitara SS in Hoima suddenly went on rampage, pelting teachers with stones, and threatening to burn the head teacher's car, over what they termed unfair punishments. According to the head teacher, Nurudin Jjemba, the students were unhappy at the school's implementation of corporal punishment and suspension of students suspected to be smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol on the compound.
