    Stefanie Rachelle Courson, 43, kindergarten teacher at Havasupai Elementary School, Lake Havasu Unified School District #1, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, "charged with eight drug-related felonies"

    Hearing scheduled for former teacher

    [Stefanie] Courson was arrested Dec. 6 after a month-long undercover operation that focused on the sale of drugs locally. An undercover detective purchased drugs from Courson on several occasions, including 225 morphine pills, 170 Xanax pills, 35 Vicodin pills and 200 Cyclobenzapriane pills.

    Detectives used search warrants to seize additional quantities of prescription drugs and more than $1,400 cash from a 2012 Jeep Cherokee.

    Former teacher faces prison time for drug charges

    Stefanie Rachelle Courson, the former Havasupai Elementary kindergarten teacher arrested for selling hundreds of pills of prescription drugs to an undercover police detective in December, finalized a plea deal with prosecutors in court Friday. Courson, 43, pleaded guilty to a single count of solicitation of sale of narcotic drugs, a Class 4 felony. She will serve between 18 and 30 months in prison ...

    An undercover Lake Havasu narcotics detective bought nearly $3,000 worth of morphine, Xanax, Vicodin and Flexerol pills over three separate deals with Courson in November and December 2013. For the final deal, Courson left school while her students were at lunch, according to the probable cause statement.

    Former Havasu teacher faces prison in drug case

    A 43-year-old former elementary school teacher in Lake Havasu City faces prison time after pleading guilty to a drug charge. The Today's News-Herald reports that Stefanie Rachelle Courson originally was accused of selling hundreds of pills of prescription drugs to an undercover police detective when arrested in December. She pleaded guilty Friday in Mohave County Superior Court to a felony charge of solicitation of sale of narcotics drugs.

    Former Havasupai teacher's sentencing set for Aug. 29

    Family and friends of Stefanie Courson have asked the court for leniency as her sentencing hearing approaches later this month on a drug solicitation charge she agreed to plead guilty to in May ...

    The sentencing hearing had been set for July but was delayed so the defense could gather additional mitigating evidence and delayed again because of a scheduling conflict. The hearing is scheduled for Aug. 29, when Judge Rick Williams will determine the sentence.

    Former Havasupai Elementary kindergarten teacher receives prison sentence for drug solicitation

    A former Lake Havasu City kindergarten teacher was sentenced Friday to a year and a half in prison, according to Mohave County Deputy Attorney Megan McCoy. Stefanie Courson received the minimum sentence possible as part of a plea deal she agreed to earlier this summer. Courson will receive credit for time already served and can get out for good behavior after serving 85 percent of her sentence.
