Knox News: Former Alcoa softball coach sentenced in sex-charge plea agreement (Jan 9 2013) Robert Paul Talley, 41, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Blount County Circuit Court to two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and five counts of statutory rape involving one of the girls. In a second case, Talley made a best interest plea — meaning he agreed that the state could prove the charges — to two counts of soliciting a minor for sexual battery by an authority figure. Blount County Circuit Court Judge Tammy Harrington sentenced him to an effective four-year term, with Talley to spend the balance of his term after jail on community corrections.
