Leake & Watts spokeswoman Meredith Barber said the incident came to the school's attention Wednesday and the school immediately reported it to the police. The teacher was suspended without pay.​

The 34-year-old teacher, Meaghan White of Valley Cottage, is accused of having sexual contact with the boy at Willson’s Woods Park in Mount Vernon, said Kieran O’Leary, a county police spokesman. Other alleged sexual encounters between the student and teacher are also under investigation in Yonkers and New Rochelle, authorities said. White appeared briefly Thursday afternoon in Mount Vernon City Court, but did not enter a plea to the charge. She was released without bail.​

A teacher at Leake & Watts residential center for troubled youth in Yonkers who was accused Wednesday of raping a 16-year-old male student in Mount Vernon is being investigated for allegedly having intercourse with the boy in a New Rochelle park, police said Friday. Meaghan White, 34, of Valley Cottage is accused of having sexual contact with the boy at Glenwood Lake in New Rochelle, Detective Capt. Joseph Schaller told The Journal News. “We did have one incident” that is under investigation, said Schaller, commander of the New Rochelle police Detective Division. ​

Authorities are investigating the New Rochelle incident and another in Yonkers, said Lucian Chalfen, a spokesman for the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, which is coordinating both cases along with the Mount Vernon rape case, all involving the same Leake & Watts student.​
