Additional information provided by Twitter for the account included the description, "Want to explore my desires for young girls, jailbait." Substitute teacher in Baldwin-Whitehall School District arrested on child porn charges The criminal complaint says that [Matthew] Sokol was tracked by investigators via his username "playfulteacher" on Twitter. When interviewed at his home, Sokol said his Twitter account had been suspended and he attributed it to some pictures that he had retweeted, according to the complaint. "Sokol stated that he has images of children that are in middle school age range involved in sexual acts with adults," ... A detective from the DA's office saw more than 50 images of children under the age of 18 exposing their genitals in a sexual act or posing on Sokol's cellphone, according to the complaint. ... "He didn't think that it was an issue that he is interested in the same age range of children that he teaches. He stated, 'It is at home, my personal life, that is how I justify it. Authorities subpoenaed Verizon's records on Aug. 28. On Sept. 2, Verizon responded with information that led police to [Matthew] Sokol's home on Mission Street and his parents' house on Kaufmann Avenue in Brentwood. Authorities served a warrant at Sokol's home on Tuesday morning. When agents asked Sokol whether he knew why they were there, “he stated that he did and it was because of what he has done,” the complaint said ... The social media company provided the user's IP address and authorities subpoenaed Verizon's records on Aug. 28. On Sept. 2, Verizon responded with information that led police to [Matthew] Sokol's home on Mission Street in the South Side Slopes and his parents' house on Kaufmann Avenue in Brentwood. On Sept. 17, a special agent with the FBI turned the case over to the District Attorney's Office, which reviewed the information and discovered the images. Detectives with the District Attorney's Office and agents from the FBI Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force served a warrant at Sokol's home.
