UPDATE: Charge Dropped Against Former Statesboro High School Principal

    16 Feb 2015

Dr. Martin Waters was charged with failure to report child abuse. Police said he knew about a suspected inappropriate relationship between an employee and student in March but didn't report it until April. In court Monday, the Bulloch County Solicitor General said there wasn't enough evidence to convict Waters beyond a reasonable doubt that he knowingly and willfully failed to report the incident. Waters also agreed to complete a course about reporting requirements that he was charged with violating.
