    KBI Director suggests district background check improvements

    Some Wichita parents said districts should have access to investigations for potential teachers, even if there hasn't been an arrest. One parent said, "You can be investigated for anything and typically these days it's a lot more serious than what people think and it doesn't always get told unless the investigation is over." A background check of Steven Thompson to teach in Wichita at Northeast Magnet didn't show an open investigation into child porn allegations.
