A San Angelo daycare teacher has been arrested after a child was physically assaulted and placed in a dark closet, according to an arrest affidavit. On March 30, 2021, police watched surveillance video from Justice Thomas's classroom at Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center, 3516 Lutheran Way. Police said they observed Thomas, 26, yelling at the child early in the day while the classroom of approximately 13 children were taking a test. According to court documents, on Mar. 30, a sargent at the San Angelo Police Department was contacted regarding an assault that allegedly happened at the Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center the week prior.
