Fox Rio 2: La Joya I.S.D. Mariachi Director’s Home Raided by ICE (Feb 27 2014) ICE agents executed a search warrant at Jesus Garza’s residence on the 2000 block of 20th St. in Mission. But in addition to his arrest, federal investigators confiscated undisclosed items from his house. Garza’s parents tell FOX 2 NEWS that agents told their daughter-in-law they were in search for drugs although this was not confirmed by authorities.

Valley Central: Mariachi director charged amid child pornography investigation (Feb 28 2014) .S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents arrested 29-year-old Jesus Javier Garza, Jr. on child porn charges on Thursday. HSI agents raided Garza's home on East 20th Street in Mission late Thursday morning. Court records filed in Garza's case show that agents became aware of the illegal activity back in January while investigating an on-line peer-to-peer network used to share pornography. HSI agents allegedly saw videos being shared on network with titles suggestive of child pornography and tracked the distribution to an IP address at Garza's home. According to a criminal complaint, Garza allegedly admitted to agents that he downloaded child pornography.

The raid came after the agents conducted a 2-month investigation into illegal sharing of child pornography, court records show. One of the HSI agents tracked down Garza through his computer and saw that he was offering several movies that had child pornography on them, agents wrote in a criminal complaint. Agents seized two computers and several portable drives and computer memory storage devices. Garza spoke with agents and agreed to be interviewed without an attorney present, which is when he told HSI agents that he had downloaded child pornography and that he kept it on his computer and storage devices, the criminal complaint states.
