Elkhart teacher/coach admits to videotaping boys in the shower Jim Iannarelli, 33, admitted to secretly video recording boys in the shower at West Side Middle School for the past four years. He was arrested on Monday, Dec. 8 after accusations of inappropriate behavior by students at West Side. According to court documents, the inappropriate videos came to light after students came forward saying they had seen the videos on Iannarelli's I-Pad. The video's showed boys undressing and showering. Police executed a warrant after the allegations came to light and discovered more videos on the I-Pad. COURT DOCS: Elkhart teacher/coach admits to claims of voyeurism Court records just filed this morning allege James Iannarelli admitted to investigators he's been videotaping students in the boys locker room at West Side Middle School for the past four years. Iannarelli reportedly told detective he recorded video of West Side Middle School wrestlers "for his sexual gratification." ... One of the current wrestlers is reported to have found a video on the 33-year-old's iPad just before Thanksgiving, but court documents say police didn't find out about it until December 1, when a Memorial High School wrestling team member and his parents went to police. The boy told detectives he saw a video on the coach's iPad that showed younger boys in the locker room shower at West Side. After that, investigators interviewed high school wrestling team members and Memorial's assistant wrestling coach who all said they too saw the videos. Investigators then got a search warrant for the iPad and found a video of 12, 13 and 14-year-old boys in the shower. Court documents say the video also showed Iannarelli - known by many as "Coach I" or "Mr. I" - putting the iPad in a locker just minutes before the students began showering. James was arrested on four counts of Child Exploitation and two counts of Voyeurism. At this time James is being held without bond, which will be set sometime Tuesday December 9, 2014. The case will be turned over to the Elkhart County Prosecutors Office.
