A middle school teacher, 22-year-old Isabella Miller-Bowman, at Dr. Daniel Bright School, was arrested Thursday for an alleged sexual encounter with a 17-year-old boy. The teacher also was placed on administrative leave Thursday, said Cottonwood-Oak Creek Superintendent Steve King. The teen boy is not a student in the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District, King said. Kuhlt said officers were called to Bowman's residence earlier this week because she and her husband were arguing. It was disclosed then that she was having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male.

“The investigation determined probable cause existed to charge her with having a sexual relationship with the juvenile,” said Kuhlt. “While officers were at the residence they also discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia that allegedly belonged to her.”

Detectives were called to handle the sexual part of the investigations while officers handled the argument and drug part, said Kuhlt. “The matter is being investigated by the Cottonwood Police Department and will be dealt with appropriately,” King said in a Thursday news release. “Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Cottonwood Police Department.” King emphasized there is no reason to believe any of COCSD’s students were involved in this alleged incident or that there was any inappropriate contact with any of COCSD’s children. “COCSD is committed to the safety of all students and expects all staff to adhere ...

A Cottonwood teacher was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor, officials said. Isabella Bowman, 22, is a teacher at Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School in Cottonwood, police said.

Former Cottonwood teacher pleads to delinquency of a minor

A former Cottonwood teacher who was facing charges of sexual conduct with a minor pleaded down to two misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Oct. 29. According to Cottonwood Police, Isabelle Bowman, 22, was arrested in August for an alleged sexual encounter with a 17-year-old boy.
