    Spartanburg Co. Coach Arrested, Charged With DUI

    On Friday, troopers received a report of blue, Chevy Suburban driving recklessly in Charleston County. Troopers spotted the SUV and pulled the driver over. The Trooper says he noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver, which he identified as [Dedra] Kiser. There were also seven students in the SUV. Troopers called the parents to come and get their children ... "The employee in question has been relieved of her coaching duties and is on administrative leave while the situation is being investigated."

    Coach arrested for DUI while driving students to Johns Island cross-country meet

    Dedra Kiser, 42, who is listed on the school's website as a math teacher and an assistant girls cross-country coach, was driving seven athletes when she was pulled over, according to Spartanburg District 7 officials. The runners were heading to the 8th Annual Low Country XC Invitational at Mullet Hall on Johns Island. The event was hosted by James Island Charter High School.


    The South Carolina Highway Patrol stopped Kiser on I-26 in North Charleston, according to media reports. She was pulled over for erratic driving, officials said. She was charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment of children ... The athletes were taken to the Charleston Police Department, and their parents had to drive there to pick them up, according to Greenville TV station WYFF.
