Sousa] at Davies Vocational Technical School has been charged with simple assault involving two 15-year-old students and "unwelcomed groping and kissing," Lincoln Police Capt. Philip Gould reported this week ... for incidents that allegedly occurred during the 2012-2013 school year. An investigation was initiated from a complaint by the parents of a 15-year-old female student at the school on Jenckes Hill Road, police said, and as a result, a second 15-year-old student then came forward.
1/18/24 https://www.tapaprovidence.org/ December of 2023 David Sousa, allegedly sexually assaulted a 16 year old female student at TAPA HIGHSCHOOL in downtown Providence. Allegedly two teachers were witness to the incident involving David Sousa and the 16 year old female student. Allegedly two teachers walked into a classroom where they saw David Sousa alone with the female minor. Concerned by what they witnessed they decided to report the incident to the principal and staff only. TAPA teaches students about their rights and how to use them. They are known for being a safe environment. They enforce their anti bullying policy, they are lgbtq+ supporters and known to join students in protest. The school never officially notified students of the incident. Staff is now trying to silence them by threatening to suspend and expell students if they try to ask questions concerning David Sousa. This is extremely concerning and may deter other victims from coming forward. Action needs to be taken, our kids concerns should be taken seriously. Students should be acknowledged by their peers. Our children should feel safe while in school.
1/19/24 https://www.tapaprovidence.org/ Students at TAPA High School organized a walkout for Friday morning. Walk out was in protest against the schools decision to punish students if they mentioned David Sousa. Students were being silenced and they felt it was unfair. TAPA teacher's suspected student were planning on leaving the school in protest and decided to address the situation involving David Sousa that afternoon. Students were split into small groups and invited to have a meeting with teachers group by group. In the meeting, teachers finally confirmed David Sousa has been terminated from TAPA. First amendment rights don't end at the school house door. These bozo administrators will be setting themselves up for a nice civil rights lawsuit if they persist.
