At a press conference Monday morning at the Conroe Police Department, Sgt. Riddle praised the officers for doing a good investigation and the arrest of a contract Willis Athletic Trainer. Riddle said just after 2 pm residents called the Conroe Police to report a suspicious vehicle on the end of Bryant Drive off Frazier and the North Loop. The last one-hundred yards of that roadway is lined by open fields and woods and been the site of several people using it as a dump.

As Conroe Police approached the vehicle in question was leaving and was stopped in the 300 block of Bryant Drive. After checking the identification of the male and female in the vehicle, they separated them and questioned them as to what they were doing in the area.

The 17-year-old female senior from Willis High School finally admitted that she and Christopher Patterson had been involved in a romantic relationship for several months. Text messages on her phone suggested the same. The female did acknowledge that it had been a sexual relationship.

Although she is 17 years of age, Texas law prohibits and relationship between a educator and student. A charge of online solicitation of a minor was also filed but according to Riddle was dropped this morning due to her age and the way the law is written.

The two had earlier been parked at the Dog Park just a few blocks away on Bryan Drive.

Christopher Nicholas Patterson, 31 of 3300 North Loop 336 West in Conroe remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100.000 bond.

Besides a contract trainer at Willis ISD is also an employee of Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

Willis ISD released a statement this morning.

Willis, TX, Feb 24, 2014 -- An employee of Huntsville Memorial Hospital working at Willis ISD under a Sports Medicine Athletic Training Service Agreement was arrested Sunday by the Conroe Police Department for an improper relationship with a student.

"We are deeply disturbed and dismayed by these allegations and will cooperate fully with the Conroe Police Department investigation," stated Superintendent Tim Harkrider. "The safety and security of all the children entrusted to our care by the Willis ISD community is our top priority."

"We want to assure the community that while the trainer was never an employee of the district, we did conduct our standard background review prior to the trainer's contact with our students," Harkrider continued.

"Our school district will never tolerate anyone who works on our campuses having an improper relationship with our students," Harkrider stated. "We will work closely with law enforcement authorities to ensure an appropriate resolution of the situation."
