Coursey, 38, of Milton, DE (Photo Attached) Dealing in Child Pornography (2 counts) Obscenity (2 counts) Arraigned at JP3 and committed to SCI on $80,000.00 cash bail Resume: Georgetown, DE- Additional charges have been placed on Charles Coursey in connection with an apparent sexual relationship he is assumed to have had with a 17 year old student. Further investigation revealed, the suspect and the victim entered into a cellular phone text messaging relationship while at school. This developed into them meeting outside of school and engaging in a sexual relationship. In the course of this exchange, Coursey sent obscene photos of himself to the victim. Coursey has been charged with two counts of Dealing in Child Pornography and two counts of Obscenity and was arraigned at JP3. On January 25, 2012, State Police Detectives were contacted by Sussex Tech school administration that the victim was involved in a sexual relationship with a teacher. Through further investigation it was determined that the teacher and student have had an apparent sexual relationship since the beginning of January 2012. Charles B. Coursey, 38, of Milton, was charged with three counts of Sexual Abuse of Child by a Person of Trust and four counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact. Coursey was arraigned on the charges and committed to Sussex Correctional Center on $17,000.00 secured bail. Questions regarding Charles Coursey’s status with Sussex Tech High School should be directed to the Sussex Tech District Office. Charles B. Coursey, of Milton, was charged with three counts of sexual abuse of child by a person of trust and four counts of unlawful sexual contact, along with two counts each of dealing with child pornography, and obscenity.
WBOC: Coach/Teacher Given Jail time for Sex With Student (Jan 25 2013) Charles Coursey, the Sussex Technical High School teacher and Wesley College men's basketball coach arrested last year for engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student, was sentenced Friday. Judge T. Henley Graves accepted Coursey's plea to two felony charges of sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust and a charge for obscenity ... Coursey, 38, of Milton, was sentenced to five years in prison, during which he must complete a family problems course. His jail sentence is followed by 10 years of Level 3 (intensive) probation, Miller said.
