    Judge tosses case of ex-Fort Hamilton High School teacher who made Columbine threat

    A Brooklyn judge has tossed out the case of an ex-Fort Hamilton High School teacher who claimed she was falsely arrested for making the threat, “If I had a trench coat and a shotgun, it would be Columbine all over again.” Art teacher Sabrina Milo, 38, argued that the idiotic statement she tearfully made in the school’s faculty lounge was free speech protected by the First Amendment.


    But Federal Judge Jack Weinstein said NYPD cops appropriately treated the statement as a serious threat “buttressed by her refusal to retract the statement,” he wrote in a decision released Friday. Milo was arrested in March 2011 and charged with making a terrorist threat. A grand jury declined to indict her. “Whether she had the intention of carrying out the threat is of no consequence,” Weinstein ruled. “Speech on schoolhouse grounds that threatens the prospect of danger to the school population is not protected.”
