New legal trouble for Parlier Unified and teacher accused of sex with student Parlier Unified is on the hot seat in court, accused of exposing students to a teacher who was eventually arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. "Did they not do something that they should have done in terms of interviewing this teacher?" asked ABC30 legal analyst Tony Capozzi. "Did they miss something in the interview?" Police arrested 25-year-old Anthony Lepore in January. Lepore is not yet facing criminal charges for the incident with one of his 16-year-old students. But his defense attorney tells Action News he thinks it's imminent. Former Parlier High School math teacher charged with sex crimes A former Parlier High School teacher, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student in January, was arrested Friday and booked into the Fresno County Jail. Superior Court Judge Dennis Peterson signed the warrant Thursday for the arrest of Anthony Joseph Lepore, 26, who taught math and was also the school’s varsity basketball coach, before his initial arrest in Jan. 18. He was released from custody while the Sanger Police Department investigated the case. Thursday, the District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint in Superior Court court charging Lepore with committing a sex act on a minor and arranging a meeting with a minor to commit a lewd act. Lepore, who lists a Clovis address as his home, was to be held in jail in lieu of posting $60,000 bail. Angry enough to re-read the offensive sentences, just to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks. Then text the link to two women whose intelligence and judgment I trust (and who happen to work in education) in order to gauge their reactions. Guess what? They’re even angrier than me.
