Teacher Charged with Possession of Child Pornograph [Press Release] 27 Aug 2013 A 38-year-old teacher who lives in Long Beach was charged today with possession of child pornography and other counts, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Aaron Paul Widera, (dob 4-13-75) who teaches math in an Orange County school district, is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at Los Angeles Superior Court, Long Beach Branch, in Department J. He is charged in case NA 096659 with one felony count of obscene matter depicting person under 18, two counts of possession of matter depicting minor engaging in sexual conduct and one count of sending or bringing obscene matter into the state for sale. Prosecutors will ask that his bail be set at $500,000. Deputy District Attorney Janis Johnson said Long Beach detectives allegedly discovered more than three dozen child porn photos posted on Widera’s Tumblr account. Long Beach, CA: Pursuant to Education Code section 44425, all certification documents under the jurisdiction of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing are revoked following his felony conviction for violating Penal Code sections 311.11(a) (possession of matter depicting minor engaging in sexual conduct) and 311.1(a) (send/bring obscene matter into state for sale). As a result of this conviction, he is required to register as a sex offender pursuant to Penal Code section 290.
