Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court Will County, Illinois Name: Ryan Dolan www.willcountycircuitcourt.com/schedule/pdf/municipality/tinley_park.pdf
Will County Clerk of the Circuit Court Court Case Lookup Ryan W Dolan www.willcountycircuitcourt.com/onlinecase/onlinelu.htm
GUILTY!!!!!! Ryan Dolan pled guilty at his pre-trial hearing on 11/4/2014 and received sex offender probation. He is now a registered sexual predator in the State of Illinois. No mention of jail-time so it looks like Ryan took the probation deal. http://www.isp.state.il.us/sor/offe...essionid=ec30b1165cddc8843de4b18647656b2b5b7b
Please change the status to guilty. Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry Name: Ryan William Dolan Sexual Predator 'Sexual predator' means any person who is convicted of a violation or attempted violation of the following sections of the Criminal Code of 1961, and the conviction occurred after July 1, 1999. Sexual Predators are required to register annually for their natural life. Victim Was 17 years of age Offender was 29 at the time of the offense. Crimes: AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEX ABUSE/VICTIM 13-18 AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED County of Conviction: Cook www.isp.state.il.us/sor The media has been silent about the guilty plea. No mention of the Will County guilty conviction in the sex offender registry.
Since it was the same victim in 2 counties the legal double-jeopardy rule may apply. I have tried searching and found no conviction records in the Cook county database. It could be that he pled guilty in Will and the conviction was entered as Cook to satisfy both prosecutors? Yes, the media has been silent indeed which is very sad in these cases. The media bandwagon is overwhelming when the arrest is made with each news outlet trying out do the other with lurid details. What really matters is how justice is administered for these offenses. Perhaps if the media were more responsible in covering the outcomes of cases they sensationalized, the courts would be held to a higher standard. Very sad that a teacher can have sex with a student in two different counties and yet only receive a 24 month probation.
How did you learn it was a 24 month probation? If that information came via a free online search please explain how one goes about doing that. To my knowledge Cook County does not have an online database to search criminal cases, only other types of cases.
You are correct. Cook County does not have a database to search sex offender convictions. The information I mentioned is concerning Dolan's conviction in Will County which is accessible via the Will County Court's free online portal. The probation status is mentioned in the case history along with a hearing date for the termination of probation in 24 months. He pled guilty on 11/4. www.willcountycircuitcourt.com/onlinecase/onlinelu.htm ***STILL waiting for TMP to change Dolan's status to "guilty" !!!
So Ryan W Dolan received a sentence of 24 months probation for the Will County charge of AGG CRIM SX AB/VIC 13<18/TRUST, and he's required to be registered as a sexual predator and sex offender. However the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry also lists a crime of AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED, for which Dolan was not charged in Will County. So apparently did that latter charge came from Cook County?
Yes. And both charges that he was convicted on (or agreed to via plea deal) are Class 2 felonies. The Class 1 charges were dropped which would have carried a much stiffer sentence. In my opinion, he received a "slap on the hand" and will be able to resume normal life in short order. What about the life of his fiance which was shattered? She was the real "victim" in this case.
Status is updated. Please note that I have a life with plenty of other responsibilities & complications. That said, I do appreciate the assists!
I don't agree with what he did but what happened to her? I hear she was dating him for several months with no problem. All of a sudden they get caught and she cries assault, really? I also believe he was not the first
The legal age of consent in Illinois is 18 when the person is in a position of trust and authority, such as an educator. Educators are told this. He either forgot or purposefully broke the law. She cried assault? Didn't read that anywhere. If they get caught, she doesn't have to cry assault. She, him, and any other witnesses just explain what happened and the legal systems decides how to proceed. Parents don't want teachers dating students, much less having sex with students, that's unacceptable.
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) revoked Dolan's Professional Educator License (PEL) 1955295 pursuant to Section 21B-80 of the School Code on December 12, 2014. www.isbe.net/EMP/FY15/Dolan-RyanW.pdf
