    Can teachers wear Black Lives Matter T-shirts in the classroom?

    The short answer to whether a teacher can wear Black Lives Matter clothing in the classroom is complicated and it’s local. The Utah State Board of Education punted Wednesday on the issue, deferring to local policies. “I can see how many would interpret that [Black Lives Matter] is an overtly political organization,” said board spokesperson Mark Peterson. “However, there is also an interpretation available that it is a social movement, not a political movement.” Peterson said the phrase is likely to merit similar treatment as the LGBTQ+ Pride flag. “Is that political?
