The number of teachers accused of having relationships with pupils has been revealed More than a dozen teachers are alleged to have been involved in inappropriate relationships with pupils in the past five years, new figures have shown. Figures obtained by the Welsh Conservatives also expose the number of cases in which teachers have been disciplined for allegations relating to the use of child pornography. Data released by the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – the body responsible for upholding classroom standards in Wales – shows that from April 2011 to present it received 13 referrals relating to teacher-pupil relationships from various local authorities.
