    Former Oak Ridge teacher wins $1.7 million in lawsuit that names Marczak

    A former teacher and coach with Oak Ridge Schools was awarded $1.7 million by a jury in U.S. District Court this week, ending a week-long trial that named Maury County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Marczak in the lawsuit. The civil case also provided reasoning as to why the administrator pursued a position with Maury County Schools. John Edward Anderson, now in his mid-to-late 60s, was a former track coach and chemistry teacher. He sued the East Tennessee public school district and its head administrators for wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, lack of due process and a “false light” invasion ...
