    Teacher’s lawsuit alleging retaliation by St. Paul school district can continue, judge says

    A judge Wednesday refused to dismiss a lawsuit accusing St. Paul Public Schools of retaliating against an outspoken former teacher. Aaron Benner says district administrators opened dubious personnel investigations against him because he publicly criticized what he called the district’s lenient disciplinary practices for African-American students. Benner, who is black, also alleges racial discrimination, saying he was treated differently from white teachers at John A. Johnson Elementary. Benner quit his job in August 2015 to work for a charter school. He filed the suit in May after the St. Paul Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity found probable ...
