    Florida transgender teacher threatens students, story goes viral

    A story about a Hernando County teacher who’s been removed from a middle school after talking about wanting to shoot students has all the elements to make it take off on the internet. It’s got threats of violence, upset parents, confusion between the school district and sheriff’s office. And the teacher is undergoing hormone treatment to transition gender. At first, the district allowed the teacher back into school, saying no one ever was in danger. As more details emerged, parents got angry. Soon, the state Department of Education got involved.     Concerns have only grown in the last week about the Hernando County School District’s handling of a March 24th incident at Fox Chapel Middle School. The incident involved an alleged threat against students by teacher Ashlee Renczkowski.     Parents upset with school district's response after trans teacher wanted to shoot students

    Parents dissatisfied with how a Florida school district handled a situation involving a trans-identified teacher who allegedly said he wanted to shoot himself and students are calling for Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Education to take action.
