    School system changing model for teacher evaluations

    Performance reviews for teachers in the Allegany County Public School System will change in the fall with the evaluations becoming less focused on student achievement. The model for evaluating teachers had been weighted on a 50/50 split between teacher competency and student progress. The new split will be 70/30 with student achievement being reduced from 50 to 30 percent. The change will result in student test performance becoming less of a priority in evaluating educators.
