Substitute Teacher Arrested, Accused of Inappropriate Touching of Jr. High Students [Hobbs Police Department Press Release] On Friday February 20, 2015 staff of the Hobbs Municipal Schools notified the Hobbs Police Department and reported the possible inappropriate touching of students by a Highland Jr. High substitute teacher. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are conducting an investigation which is ongoing. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for twenty-three year old Roy Tabor of Lovington, NM, charging him with four counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor, a 3"I degree felony. On Sunday, February 22, 2015 Mr. Tabor was arrested without incident and incarcerated at the Lea County Detention Facility in Lovington, NM. His bond was set at $50,000 cash/surety, which was posted on February 23, 2015. According to court documents 23-year-old Roy Tabor admits to having sexual contact with four different teenage girls at the junior high where he subbed. Tabor says in most of the cases he hugged girls and then grabbed their butt’s. But the contact went much further with two girls. Tabor told police he met one girl at a park and kissed her. He also claims to have met a 15-year-old girl at her home during an open period and engaged in more intense sexual contact.
