School officials say 25-year-old Robert Cantrell was fired before this school year began. Deputies say the investigation began in June. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department said it received a complaint in June that Cantrell had pursued an inappropriate relationship with a student. Investigators said they found incriminating conversations he'd had with the victim on social media. Cantrell is now charged with two counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance and first degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Cantrell, 25, of Prestonsburg was charged with two counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance and unlawful transaction with a minor ... The Johnson County Sheriff's Department said it got a tip about a teacher in a possible inappropriate relationship with a student at Johnson Central High School. The sheriff's department along with the Kentucky Attorney General's Electronic Crimes Unit began an investigation. The school immediately suspended Cantrell but conducted an internal investigation and later dismissed him from employment. Former Johnson County, KY teacher indicted on sex-related crimes Robert L. Cantrell, 25, will face two counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance and one count of unlawful transaction with a minor, according to a release from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office launched an investigation after receiving a complaint about Cantrell.
