Wa-Hi teacher investigated after reports of inappropriate touching School district officials contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 1 and asked it to investigate allegations made by a boy and a girl, both 15, and another girl, 14, said Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy John King. King said the female youths alleged that Maib, 64, touched them in a sexual manner through their clothing on several occasions during the first four weeks of school. The teens also alleged that Maib made comments to them that had “sexual overtones,” but King refused to reveal what those comments were. King said the male student reported he was picked up and moved in an inappropriate manner by Maib. The most serious allegations, King said, involved one girl who reported being touched on the buttocks somewhere between 10-15 times during the first four weeks of classes. ... In 1999, Maib was put on paid administrative leave pending an investigation of an assault where he was accused of punching and trying to throw a male student to the ground. Wa-Hi teacher subject of investigation The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office has investigated Walla Walla High School teacher Robert Maib on allegations of inappropriate touching and comments. WWCSO Chief Operations Officer John King says two females filed a complaint with school officials about his behavior. “The school brought it to our attention,” King said. “We’ve done a criminal investigation.
