    Raymond Nixon was arrested Friday, February 22, on one count of solicitation of child by computer or certain other electronic devices to commit an unlawful sex act. The investigation dates back to late December. Nixon is a staff member of Union County Department of Social Services and works part-time at a local group home. Police say he was sending inappropriate texts to a child at the group home.

    WSOC TV: School employee on leave, accused of texting kids (Jan 4 2013)

    A Union County school employee and part-time county worker is on paid leave after allegations surfaced he was inappropriately texting children. Monroe police confirmed Friday they are investigating Raymond Nixon, but they wouldn’t offer further comment. Nixon has been employed part-time at the Union County Department of Social Services Group Home as a community social services assistant since July 2010. At the home, he worked with children of all ages who are neglected, abused and challenged, until a DSS worker received information about the allegations.

    Detectives began investigating Nixon on Dec. 28, 2012, after they believe he sent inappropriate text messages to a juvenile in the same Union County Department of Social Services group home where Nixon was working as a part-time staff member.
