Sharon Hill fires cops charged in 8-year-old’s death

Borough council voted 6-1 during its meeting Thursday to fire three police officers charged with manslaughter in the August shooting death of 8-year-old Fanta Bility outside an Academy Park High School football game. Officers Devon Smith, 34, Sean Patrick Dolan, 25, and Brian James Devaney, 41, are charged with one count each of voluntary manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter, as well as 10 counts each of reckless endangerment. Sharon Hill Solicitor Sean Kilkenny said Counciwoman Sandra L. Holcombe was the lone “nay” vote.
