    NPR Probe: Even Before Pandemic, Authorities Lost Track Of Sex Offenders

    NOEL KING, HOST: Another change brought about by the coronavirus. Some parts of the country have had to close offices where sex offenders go to register in person. That makes it harder for law enforcement to know where they are. But an NPR investigation found that long before the pandemic started, authorities had lost track of tens of thousands of sex offenders, and some of them committed additional sex crimes.
