    Police investigate Hermitage teacher

    Authorities are not releasing the name of a Hermitage School teacher being investigated for possible inappropriate activity with a female student. Police Chief Eric Jewell tells 21News that his department is conducting interviews about the alleged incident that would have started in the last school year. Jewell confirmed to 21 News that the investigation involves a male teacher and a female student. He did not reveal the age of the student. “Any teacher-child issue or corruption is taken seriously,” said Jewell. No one has been arrested, and no charges have been filed.

    City police are investigating reports that a teacher might have had inappropriate contact with a former student. “I had received uncorroborated information from a source that a Hermitage School District teacher may have had an inappropriate relationship with a former student,” Hermitage police Chief Eric Jewell said. “The school district corroborated that they were looking into the same matter.” Jewell said the investigation is ongoing.     An investigation into accusations against a former Hermitage School District teacher will not result in criminal charges. But the teacher, whom the school district declined to identify, has resigned voluntarily. After conducting a series of interviews and re-interviews, Hermitage police Chief Eric Jewell said that an inquiry into reports of alleged inappropriate contact between a teacher and a former student is being dropped. “After looking at the totality of everything, we deemed that there was insufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime,” Jewell said.
