When Deputy Hagood spoke with Williams, the teacher appeared to be unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech.     Teacher arrested for drug possession, public intoxication

    According to a Hawkins County arrest report, deputies were called to the school Friday around 9 a.m., after staff noticed that 6th grade teacher Melissa Ellen Williams, 40, 1320 Walkers Church Road of Bulls Gap, was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech. Deputies reportedly spoke with Williams who they observed stumble to her seat when entering the office. They said she had difficulty speaking with other.
