Former Leicester teacher sues school district after losing job over Facebook posts A Leicester Middle School math teacher who lost his job after he temporarily posted two politically-charged comments on Facebook is suing the school and the district for defamation and violating his First Amendment rights. A lawsuit filed Thursday alleges that eliminating the job of Joseph Lijoi, 56, then a sixth-grade math teacher at Leicester Middle School, was in retaliation for Lijoi successfully being reinstated through the state arbitration process.
