According to the document, the boy referred to Mints as a "cougar" and said they were texting one day when he told her there was something wrong with his penis. The student, who had Mints for sex education class, told the other coach Mints responded to him by saying she would have to see it to know what was wrong with it. She then asked him to come to the school. He told the other coach he went to the school and Mints performed a sexual act on him. The warrant states the occupants of the vehicle told the 13-year-old they didn't believe him, and he responded, "I put that on everything that I love, it happen [sic]."In a later interview with police, the boy said the incident occurred on January 18, 2013 during a seventh-grade sporting tournament at the middle school. The student went on to tell the officer "he has been allowed to also touch her breast and buttock on numerous occasions while spending time in [Mints] classroom in the presence of other students who were allowed to do the same," according to the warrant. [Boy #2:] In another arrest warrant, police returned to the middle school to interview other potentially involved children, and another student was interviewed on May 5. The second student claimed he has received phone messages on multiple occasions from Mints on the chat application Voxer leading up their first sexual contact. The student claimed Mints sent him a message asking "if he liked 'white girls'" and asked about getting together with him at her home in Cedar Hill. The second student said Mints picked him up in her car and took him to her home, where she performed a sex act. When asked by police, the second victim said he had only told one other person, another juvenile. The second victim's cell phone was seized as evidence, as it contained messages between he and Mints, according to the improper relationship warrant.

The student also referred to Mints as a “cougar” who “likes younger men” and claims that as one Mints “favorite students,” he was allowed to touch her breasts and buttocks while spending time in her classroom. Police say the second victim exchanged messages with Mint, over a smart phone app called Kik, in which she asked if he wanted to “hang out” and if he liked “white girls.” According to the arrest warrant, Mints picked up him and drove him to her home where she also performed oral sex on him. Police say his cell phone contained evidence of the messages he exchanged with Mints. April 29, while driving a group of students home after a sporting event, a 13-year-old black male asked the reporting teacher for a ride to a nearby Wal-Mart to meet his older brother. During the trip the coach overheard the victim recite to his peers the encounter between Mints and himself over the recent Spring Break Holiday. Mints sent the victim a message on a popular real time chat application, "KIK”. Among these messages police say Mints asked the victim if he liked "white girls” and if he wanted to come to her house and "hang out.” The victim reported that she drove over to his house to pick him up and go back to her house in West Cedar Hill. It was at that point Mints suggested that they go into her bedroom where she subsequently performed oral sex on the victim.

School officials then contacted the Cedar Hill Police Department, who began an investigation into the claims. Warrants were issued for Mints' arrest Wednesday by the Cedar Hill Police Department. She was stopped for a traffic violation a short time later and taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the DeSoto Jail and later transferred to the Dallas County Jail.
