    Ex-Belton teacher arrested

    A former Belton Independent School District teacher was arrested Monday on a charge of an educator having an improper relationship with a student, a second-degree felony, and one charge of sale/distribution/display of harmful material to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. Kevin Raymond Ivy, 36, of Dallardsville and a principal at Big Sandy High School in Polk County, was arrested on Monday by Polk County sheriff’s deputies. Ivy was released Monday on $12,000 bail, according to the Polk County Jail.

    The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Polk County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, is reporting the arrest of a Big Sandy ISD high school principal on November 17, 2014. Kevin Raymond Ivy has been charged with one count of Improper Relationship between an Educator and Student, a Second Degree felony, and one count of Sale/Distribution/Display of Harmful Material to a Minor, a Class A misdemeanor. Ivy was being held at the Polk County Jail on two bonds of $12,000 set by Precinct One Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino.

    A tip to law enforcement prompted the investigation into Ivy, age 36, of Big Sandy, which then revealed a series of text messages allegedly sent by Ivy to a female Big Sandy high school student containing sexual content.

    Ivy has been previously employed in various professional capacities at the Belton, Hudson, Woden, Onalaska and Hallsville Independent School Districts.

    The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has requested that anyone who may have information regarding this case or similar situations involving Ivy contact Lt. Craig Finegan at 936-329-9028, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 936-327-STOP (7867). All tipsters will remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward.

    Belton: Former Belton Educator Charged With Improper Relationship

    Kevin Raymond Ivy posted bonds totaling $24,000 and was released from the Polk County Jail on Monday after he was booked on a charge of improper relationship between educator/student and a charge of sale/distribution/display of harmful material to a minor, a news release issued by the Polk County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies began investigating Ivy, 36, after school officials advised them on Nov. 7 about the series of text messages containing sexual content sent to a female Big Sandy high school student, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The messages and nude photos were sent between April 1 and June 6, the affidavit said. The student told investigators that Ivy sent her “nude photos of him and sexually explicated worded text messages to her cellular telephone from his cellular telephone,” the affidavit said. In the texts, he made “sexual remarks” and asked the girl “to have sex with him” the affidavit said.

    Polk Co. principal accused of improper relationship

    Kevin Raymond Ivy, 36, of Dallardsville, who is a principal at Big Sandy ISD in Polk County, is charged with second-degree improper relationship between an educator and student and class A sale/distribution/display of harmful material to a minor. He was arrested Monday and his bond is set at $12,000. According to a press release, an investigation began when law enforcement were tipped off and discovered that Ivy allegedly sent a series of sexually explicit text messages and Snapchats containing nude photos of himself female Big Sandy student. Ivy was previously employed by schools in Hudson, Woden, Belton, Onalaska, and Hallsville.
