    Judy Bingham was arrested and charged with one count of cruelty to children, a first degree felony, and simple battery, a misdemeanor. The alleged incident happened August 15 at the school, but was not investigated until the parent of the kindergartner emailed the principal – after a 4th grader told him about the incident.

    The police report says a paraprofessional in the classroom said the student was not listening, following directions or staying seated. Bingham reportedly "grabbed a student by the ankle and dragged him across the classroom, causing him to hit his head on the floor," after he failed to listen. The teacher then grabbed the student "by the ankle, out the classroom, down the hallway and to the front office." The incident came to light after a 4th grader witnessed what happened in the hallway and told his or her parents.

    Teacher charged with cruelty to children, battery

    Judy Bingham, 48, a Tritt Elementary School kindergarten teacher, was arrested Thursday and charged with cruelty to children, a first-degree felony, and simple battery, a misdemeanor, stemming from an incident Aug. 15.

    According to the school district, the student’s father learned about the incident from a neighbor. The neighbor said his fourth-grade son witnessed the teacher dragging the kindergartener down the hallway to the front office.

    Cobb teacher accused of dragging misbehaving student by ankle

    Judy Evon Bingham, a teacher at Tritt Elementary school in east Cobb, allegedly grabbed the boy by the ankle, causing him to hit his head on the floor, according to an arrest warrant and incident report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.”The accused also dragged the victim by the ankle out of the classroom, down a hallway and to the front office while other students were watching,” the warrant states.

    Bingham, 48, of Marietta, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at her home and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, a felony, and simple battery, Cobb County jail records showed. She was released late Wednesday after posting $5,000 bond.

    Cobb County teacher accused of dragging kindergartner by ankles

    According to a police incident report, Judy Bingham is accused of dragging the kindergartner by his ankles at Tritt Elementary School back on Aug. 15. According to the report, a paraprofessional in the classroom said the student was acting out in class when Bingham grabbed the child by the ankles to take him to bookshelves at the back of the class, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the floor. The paraprofessional said that after the child continued to act out, and refused to go to the office, Bingham then dragged the child again to the door and out of the classroom, according to the report.


    When questioned about the incident, the report state's that Bingham said the child walked to the bookshelves on his own, and that she did not drag him across the classroom. She also said that she "scooped him up," to get him to the office, adding that she had to grab him by the leg to get him to move.

    Teacher Arrested After Dragging Student Down Hall

    A teacher at Tritt Elementary School in Cobb County has been accused of dragging a kindergarten student by their ankle across the classroom. According to reports, Judy Evon Bingham, allegedly grabbed the boy by the ankle, causing him to hit his head on the floor, before taking him down a hallway and to the front office in front of students. Bingham, 48, of Marietta, was arrested at her home and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, a felony, and simple battery ... A parapro in the classroom was interviewed by a police officer this week and told them that while other students were seated in a circle on the classroom floor, one student would not sit and follow directions. When Bingham tried to talk to the boy, he ran from her. When Bingham returned to the classroom, she told the paraprofessional she had dragged the boy to the front office, but gave the impression that school administrators were aware.

    Judy Bingham was arrested and slapped with a first-degree felony charge for cruelty to children, as well as a misdemeanor charge for simple battery, after she allegedly grabbed the student and dragged him to the front office, causing him to bump his head on the floor at Tritt Elementary School in Marietta.


    According to the news station, a paraprofessional helping out in the classroom complained to Bingham that the student was not listening to instructions or sitting still at the time of the Aug. 15 incident. Bingham then “grabbed a student by the ankle and dragged him across the classroom, causing him to hit his head on the floor,” the news site notes, before continuing to hold him by the ankle and taking him “out the classroom, down the hallway and to the front office."

    Teacher Drags Boy Across Classroom: Kindergarten Student Dragged By Ankle, Hits Head On The Floor

    A teacher allegedly dragged a boy across the classroom by his ankle for not listening to her. Judy Bingham is being charged with one count of cruelty to children, a first degree felony, and simple battery, a misdemeanor, USA Today reports.


    A kindergarten student was apparently grabbed by his ankle and dragged on the floor at a school in Marietta, Georgia. The incident is believed to have happened on August 15 at Tritt Elementary School, a place the Wendell family wanted the child to attend because of its good reputation.


    The alleged dragging incident wasn’t being investigated until the child’s parent heard about it from a fourth-grade student. The parent then emailed the school’s principal, Tricia Patterson. She urgently alerted district leaders to the incident, Cobb schools spokesman, Jay Dillon, said on Thursday.

    Georgia Teacher Arrested For Dragging Misbehaving Student By His Ankle

    Judy Evon Bingham is facing felony charges of cruelty to children in the first degree and battery, after being arrested for reportedly dragging a kindergarten child, who had misbehaved, across a classroom floor and down a hallway to the school’s office, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The East Cobb, Georgia Tritt Elementary School educator allegedly chastised a five-year-old boy in her class for not sitting still and following instructions during circle time according to an unnamed paraprofessional, whom police officers reportedly interviewed states AJC.


    According to the para, when Bingham tried speaking to the child, he reportedly ran from her so she grabbed him by the ankle and dragged him out of the classroom. When Bingham returned to the class, she had allegedly informed the para, she was forced to still continue her efforts of dragging the boy by his ankles down the hallway in an effort to get him to the front office. The para allegedly told investigators, the teacher had made it seem, as if her actions had been tolerated by school administrators in the front office.

    Teacher arrested after dragging 4-year-old boy by the ankle and hitting his head for refusing to sit in a circle

    A teacher was arrested on charges of cruelty to children after allegedly dragging a little boy by the ankle because he refused to sit in a circle, police in Atlanta said. Cobb County Police said that they arrested the kindergarten teacher for dragging the student through a classroom and into the main office of the school.

    48-year-old Judy Evon Bingham of the Tritt Elementary school, allegedly grabbed the boy by his ankle, causing him to hit his head on the ground. Bingham assaulted the child in front of other children. She was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, and was charged with cruelty to children and battery.
