According to the arrest report, [Jessica] Boyers, who is married, was arrested at Buechel Park just before midnight. Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said officers on routine patrol noticed unusual activity in a car at Buechel Park. Police said the boy told detective there had been sexual contact between himself and Boyers. According to the arrest report, Boyers is the child's teacher.​

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This letter is to inform you of an incident that took place today that affects our school community. I want to make sure that you have accurate information and dispel any rumors you may have heard about the incident.

This morning, I became aware of a situation involving one of our teachers, Jessica Boyers. Louisville Metro Police arrested Ms. Boyers early this morning. She is charged with first-degree sexual abuse. The alleged incident did not occur during school hours or on school grounds. Please understand that, because this is an ongoing criminal investigation and personnel matter, this is the only information I am permitted to release.

We understand that these allegations are alarming to the Highland Middle community. I hope you will take the time to explain to your child the seriousness of the situation. We ask that you support your child and the school in the following ways:

• Encourage your child to report any suspicious or dangerous activity to a trusted adult at school or to you
• Let your child know that there are people here to help if he or she has any educational or emotional needs.
• Discuss with him or her the importance of setting physical boundaries with students and adults.
• Explain to your child the seriousness of playing a prank, teasing, or spreading rumors.

Please know that we are working quickly to find a permanent solution to the instructional needs of our students who will be affected by the teacher’s absence.

Please be assured that the safety and well-being of your child are always foremost in everything we do. Our goal is for all students to learn at high levels and have fun in a safe and nurturing school environment. We will continue to take every necessary step to ensure the safety of your child.

WDRB: Highland M.S. teacher arrested for sex abuse (Apr 12 2013)

According to an arrest report, Louisville Metro Police were called to Buechel Park Thursday afternoon for a sex abuse investigation. Police say a juvenile victim claimed to have had sexual contact with 24-year-old Jessica M. Boyers, a Jefferson County Public Schools teacher at Highland Middle School. Boyers was the juvenile's teacher, according to the arrest report.​

Jessica Boyers was arrested Thursday at Buechel Park in Louisville. Police say she was spotted in the car with a middle school student from Highland and was engaging in sexual activity.​

Police say Boyers had been caught with one of her students in a parked car in Buechel Park. “Last night it was about 9:45 or so and our crimes against children detectives were called to Buechel Park on a report of a couple inside a car engaged in some type of sexual contact,” Alicia Smiley, with the LMPD, said.

The arrest sent shockwaves through the school. A Highland Middle School 7th grader, Joseph Ireland, says he noticed something different about Boyer's interactions with the student she was found with. "She was mean sometimes and she was nice to just that one kid," Ireland said.

Boyers has been released from jail and she is on non-instructional duty while the investigation continues.​

According to an arrest report, Louisville Metro Police found Jessica M. Boyers, 24, around 9:45 p.m. on April 11 in the company of a juvenile in Buechel Park in the 200 block of Alpha Avenue. The report states the juvenile told police there had been sexual contact between the two and that Boyers was a teacher of the juvenile. Boyers was arrested on a charge of sexual abuse and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. She was later released on her own recognizance and will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 16.​

Jessica Boyers, 24, of the 8600 block of Confederate Place in Pewee Valley, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday after police said a student alleged “sexual contact” occurred between them earlier that evening at a park more than five miles from the school. The student alleged the incident happened at Buechel Park in Buechel about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, according to Boyers’ arrest report.​

The article seems to be trying to make something out the fact that Oldham County is also investigating her, because she lived there, yet the Oldham County investigation appears to have produced nothing of substance.

We were the only station there when former Louisville teacher Jessica Boyers was arraigned Friday morning on new criminal charges. 25-year-old Boyers is now charged with rape, sodomy and two counts of sex abuse. She was indicted this week.​

[Jessica Boyers is] now facing similar charges stemming from an illicit relationship that took place in Oldham County. According to a news release, Boyers was indicted on June 14 for 19 counts of engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor, 11 counts of sexual abuse and eight counts of rape. ​

Police say all the Oldham County charges involve an inappropriate relationship with one male juvenile.​

An Oldham County Grand Jury indicted [Jessica] Boyers on nearly 19 charges of unlawful transaction with a minor, 8 charges of 2nd degree rape and 11 charges of sexual abuse in the case. The victim in the case is believed to be 14 years old.​

A grand jury in Oldham County indicted Boyers, 24, on 19 charges of unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree, 8 charges of rape in the second degree and 11 charges of sexual abuse in the first degree. The indictment, issued June 14, identifies a 14-year-old victim and alleges the incidents took place between March 1 and April 7. Court documents identify the victim only as “A.B.” but do not give the full name or gender.​

 

WLKY: Former middle school teacher faces additional sex abuse charges (June 18 2013)

But in a Jefferson County court Tuesday, the commonwealth asked for 60 more days to prepare after new information against Boyers surfaced ... Boyers was indicted by the Oldham County grand jury last week on 38 additional charges; 19 counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, 11 counts of first-degree sex abuse and eight counts of second-degree rape. According to the 15-page indictment from Oldham County, Boyers committed the crimes from March 1 to April 7. A statement released by Oldham County police confirmed the teen in the Oldham County case is the same teen involved in the Jefferson County case.​
