Scotsman: Married teacher accused of abducting schoolgirl could face underage sex charges (Nov 7 2012)

Runaway teacher Jeremy Forrest could face underage sex charges over his eight days on the run in France with a 15-year-old schoolgirl ... Forrest was extradicted on a European Arrest Warrant stating only child abduction offences - because the age of sexual consent in France is 15. Current European agreements state that a suspect can only be tried on the charges cited when the arrest was first made. But a court in Maidstone, Kent, has now asked French officials to add sex charges to the original warrant, so he can be tried for having underage sex in Britain, where the age of consent is 16. The ‘irregular’ demand to a court in Bordeaux comes after the Eastbourne teenage girl - who cannot now be named for legal reasons - gave evidence to UK judges.

"who cannot now be named for legal reasons": What a joke -- her name, Megan Stammers, was all over the media when this story broke.
