    Former City High volleyball coach failed to pay more than $50,000 in district fees, state audit finds

    Longtime former City High volleyball coach Craig Pitcher failed to pay the Iowa City school district more than $50,000 in fees to operate a non-district volleyball league over summer seasons while collecting pay from a pair of volleyball programs he ran, according to a report from the State Auditor's office released Tuesday. But Pritcher told state auditors the district knew about the programs and that school leaders never asked him to reimburse the district for the use of City High's facilities.
