    Peaceful Jacksonville rally renews call for JSO accountability in police shootings

    A grieving mother whose daughter was fatally shot by Jacksonville police last year joined demonstrators Wednesday night in a peaceful rally outside the Duval County Courthouse calling for police accountability and reform. Charity Baker told about 50 people attending the "Justice for All" demonstration that police gunned down her 29-year-old daughter Leah Marie Baker, who struggled with mental illness, one year ago on April 11, 2020. The Sheriff's Office said Leah Baker was shot after attacking Officers E. Meckling and J.C. Nobles with a butcher knife.
