    L.A. deputy possibly involved in U.S. Capitol insurrection, sheriff says

    A deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is suspected of possibly being involved in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol while off duty last week, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said on Thursday, Jan. 14. “I am very concerned one of my deputies may have been involved in wrongdoing at the U.S. Capitol,” Villanueva said in a statement. “Upon learning, I contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and briefed them.” It was not clear whether the deputy attended the rally where President Donald Trump addressed a crowd of thousands, or took part in the attack on the U.S. Capitol building ...
