    Easthampton begins crafting new police-school memorandum after turbulent year

    Members of the School Committee and Police Chief Robert Alberti have begun crafting a new police-school "memorandum of understanding" to replace an outdated document that is required by law. Alberti and the three-member policy subcommittee exchanged information Thursday night in a meeting also attended by Superintendent Nancy Follansbee and School Committee member Cynthia Kwiecinksi. Subcommittee members Peter Gunn, Marissa Carrere and Sarah Hunter said they felt the meeting was productive. The goal is to update a document required for school districts that have a police officer embedded in the schools. The document must describe all respective responsibilities and duties.
