    Spanish teacher claims private school sacked her for being ‘too spicy’

    A leading private school is facing claims it unfairly sacked a Spanish teacher who was told she was “too spicy” to work there. The High School of Dundee, which charges fees of up to £16,050 a year, is being taken to an employment tribunal by Ana Aguero, who also alleges she was referred to as “the teacher with the funny last name”. She has alleged that the “spicy” remark was a reference to her Spanish heritage. Ms Aguero and another former colleague claim a redundancy process was “engineered” to remove them earlier this year.
