David Timmins, 40, who worked at Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington, is believed to been in a relationship with a teenage girl ... Appearing in court today Mr Timmins was remanded in custody until 25 October.​

David Timmins, who works at Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington, is accused of sexual activity with a child. The 40-year-old is said to have had a relationship with the teenage girl ...He worked as Pupil Progress Manager and was a member of the senior management team at Ercall Wood, in Golf Links Lane, in the last academic year. He had special responsibility for behaviour, attendance and child protection.​

A history teacher and member of the senior staff at a Shropshire school today appeared in court to admit charges of sexual activity with an under-age girl. David Timmins, who worked at Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington, committed the offences between March 1 and September 10 this year, Shrewsbury Crown Court was told this morning. The victim of the offences cannot be identified. Timmins, 40, of Dyffryn Foel, Llansantffraid, Powys, pleaded guilty to the three charges of sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16. The case was adjourned to January 14 next year for sentence.​

David Timmins, 41, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to two years eight months and barred from working with children for life at Shrewsbury Crown Court. Timmins admitted three counts, which date from March to September 2012.​

A pervert history teacher in charge of the child protection unit at his school was today jailed after he repeatedly groped a vulnerable 15-year-old girl in his office. David Timmins, 41, bombarded the victim with emails and showered her with gifts after meeting her at school where he was a senior member of staff with a pastoral role. He even offered to give her money for hair dye and talked about eloping with her before luring the girl into his office at break times where he kissed her and fondled her private parts. Timmins, who worked as a Pupil Progress Manager at Ercall Wood Technology College in Telford, Shrops., even turned up at the girl’s work experience placement where he kissed and hugged her.​

David Timmins, 41, a history teacher who was in charge of child protection at Ercall Wood School in Telford, was yesterday sentenced to two years and eight months in jail. e was told by a judge a Shrewsbury Crown Court that he would never work with children again. Timmins, formerly from Shrewsbury and now of no fixed abode, had admitted three offences of sexual activity with a child at an earlier hearing. Timmins bombarded the girl with e-mails and showered her with gifts, including one half of the friendship necklace that he wore. He even tried to contact her after his arrest. When he was caught and arrested on child sex charges, Timmins initially tried to blame the school for ‘over promoting’ him.​
