According to court documents, Courtney Louise Jarrell, 22, was charged with one first-degree felony count of object rape and one second-degree felony count of forcible sexual abuse. Jarrell allegedly engaged in illegal non-consensual sexual activity with a 17-year-old female student who attends the school, a probable cause statement says. The alleged misconduct took place at Jarrell’s home sometime between February and March of 2013.​

Prosecutors allege that Jarrell had a sexual encounter with a female student between February and March, according to court documents. During the encounter, Jarrell is accused of touching the student’s breasts and genitals while the teen was at the teacher’s Salt Lake County residence.​

Courtney Louise Jarrell, who is a 22 year old high school math teacher /coach in Riverton High School in Utah, was charged with object rape, a first-degree felony, and forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. The person she is accused of rape is a 17 year old girl. Looking at the picture of Jarrell, she looks about 17 herself. In many states,17 years old is consensual for sex. There are no allegations that she forced or used violence against the student. It was consensual except for the age.​

 

I believe that Courtney is a victim and that her student age 17 set her up. From what I here the student came on to the teacher. They are not to far apart in age and though it was wrong for a teacher to engage in sex I believe it is also wrong for charges to be brought upon Courtney.
