    Junior ROTC teacher now charged with endangering

    A Junior ROTC instructor cited for public drunkenness following a violent argument at a bar has been charged with endangering a student he drove to school later that same morning. Carl Curtis, 48, of Baden, already faced two citations for public drunkenness stemming from the events early Sunday before Ambridge police added a charge of endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday. He now faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 9, according to online court records which do not list a defense attorney.

    Police: Ambridge junior ROTC instructor showed up drunk to chaperone school event

    Ambridge police said Carl Curtis, a junior ROTC instructor at Ambridge High School, showed up at the high school Sunday morning drunk and smelling of alcohol. He was there to be a chaperone and driver of a school function, they said ... Police said Curtis picked up a female student and brought her to the school before police cited him for public drunkenness ... Within just a few hours, police say they had three run-ins with Curtis -- two earlier at the American Legion, where he and his wife allegedly fought and then officers said he and school board president Mary Jo Kehoe fought.
