    San Leandro rejects demands to release names of police involved in fatal shooting

    Despite demands at protests and City Council meetings for San Leandro to release the names of the two police officers involved in the fatal shooting of a Black man inside a Walmart earlier this year, the city has no plans to do so immediately, saying people have called and threatened to harm the two cops. The family and friends of Steven Taylor, 33, who was shot after the officers confronted him as he was brandishing a baseball bat inside the store, maintain he was having a mental health crisis, and they want the officers criminally prosecuted.
