On February 6, a parent brought their daughter into the Bryan Police Department to make a report against the child's former 2nd grade teacher. They reported that while she attended Milam Elementary in 2010, her teacher touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions. ​

After police investigated, another student confessed that she was also touched inappropriately. This student disclosed that while she attended Milam Elementary in 2007 and 2008, the same teacher touched her inappropriately.​

On Thursday, March 6, 34-year-old Asael Paniagua of College Station was arrested for indecency with a child by sexual contact.​

Bryan Police officer Kelley McKethan says the investigation began February 6 when a parent brought their daughter to the police department. She reported she was touched on multiple occasions four years ago while she was a student in Paniagua’s class. McKethan says that report led to the identity of a second student, who disclosed Paniagua touched her during the 2007-2008 school year ... McKethan says Paniagua was arrested Thursday at his home without incident. Just before 5 p.m. Friday, Paniagua was released from the Brazos County Jail after posting bonds totaling $20,000 dollars.​

Bryan Police said the case began on February 6 when a Milam Elementary parent brought her daughter to the police station. She told them Paniagua touched her during the 2010 school year. "The investigation led them to a second child who is no longer in this city," said Bryan Police Officer Kelley McKethan. "That child disclosed that in the 2007-2008 school year, she was also touched inappropriately by that same teacher."​

Asael Paniagua ... was arrested on a warrant Thursday afternoon after two students accused their former second-grade teacher at Milam Elementary School in Bryan of touching them inappropriately in 2010 and during the 2007-2008 school year, according to a press release from the Bryan Police Department. Paniagua was charged with two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, second-degree felonies punishable by two to 20 years in prison.​

34-year old Asael Paniagua is accused of inappropriately touching a student multiple times in 2010. He is also facing charges for touching a second elementary schooler during the 2007-2008 school year. Paniagua was arrested Thursday afternoon. Allegedly he touched the children while he was teaching at Milam Elementary School in Bryan three years ago. He is now a teacher at College Hills Elementary School in College Station Independent School District. Both school districts are fully cooperating with the investigation.​

A local second grade teacher who was arrested last week for indecent contact with two former students is now out of jail. 34-year-old Asael Paniagua Junior of College Station posted a $20,000 bond late Friday, the day after his arrest. Bryan police officer Kelley McKethan says Paniagua is accused of inappropriate touching as recently as 2010 while teaching at Milam Elementary in Bryan. ​
