A municipal judge formally charged Arturo Castillo Jr. with improper relationship between an educator and a student, and tampering with government records. Castillo turned himself in Tuesday to the Alamo Police Department.

According to a criminal complaint, Castillo was helping the victim change multiple absences she had for class. ... and Arturo Castillo Jr., 34, are all charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree felony. The three female students are believed to be 18 years old or younger and to have had sexual contact with the men in at least one occasion dating back to October, Donna Police Chief Ruben “Ram” De Leon said. Each case is unrelated, according to Donna ISD Superintendent Jesus Rene Reyna.

Castillo Jr. has an active arrest warrant and is expected to turn himself in to police Tuesday morning, Alamo Police Sgt. Lupita Valdez said. He was recently fired from his job as a Donna ISD truancy officer in response to the allegations.
